Saving documents in QuicWord

Top  Previous  Next

QWIcon QuicWord creates and reads Rich Text Format (rtf), MS Word (doc), Text (txt), Hypertext Markup Language (html) and Template (tx) files. To preserve formatting such as bold, fonts size and types, etc., save your documents as rtf or doc files.

Templates are saved with the extension tx.

Naming files

Use standard naming conventions. You can use long, descriptive file names if you wish. You do not have to add the rtf extension to the file name. The Save function automatically adds the extension.

Note: You can save your files as you would for any word processor in any directory or to disk. However, If you plan to use QuicDoc's Backup for your clinical records, save your files in the Documents folder in the QuicDoc directory.

If you have modified a template for a clinical form or letter, and want to save your changes, be sure to Save and Name the file. Templates are saved with the extension tx in the Documents folder.

To save and name, or to rename files

1.Select Save As from File menu.
2.Enter a name in the File name field.
3.Specify rtf or doc (to preserve formatting) for Save as type. For templates save the document as a tx file.
4.Click Save.
