Auto Search
Begin typing in a field with a drop down pick list to activate an auto search. For example, in the field for Residence in the Address tab for Patient Information, type only the letter p, and the words 'private residence' are automatically entered in the field for you; type the letter r, and 'residential facility' appears. This also applies to fields in the documentation sections, as well as other areas of the program.

Pop-up Menu
Pop-up menus can be accessed by right clicking with your mouse. For example, right click in the Note Hx tab, Tx Plans tab, or Incidental tab to create or open notes and reports.
Right click in text fields to display edit menus.
Right click on a patient's name in the list to display the patient menu.
Right click on an appointment in the Scheduler for a pop-up scheduler menu, and in the Scheduler Tasks for a task menu.

Double clicking
Double click on a patient's name in the Patient list to open the patient information window (or select name and press Enter).
Double click on a Clinical Note or Report in the Note Hx, Tx Plan, or Incidental tab to open.
Double click on a Continuing Education entry to open.
Double click an Authorization in patient's Authorization tab to open.
Double click on a Task or Treatment Plan in the Tasks tab in the Patient window to open.

Hot Keys and Keyboard Shortcuts
An underlined menu letter represents a hot key which when pressed with the Alt key will open a menu. For example, press Alt + F for the File menu. Other shortcuts include:
• | Ctrl + S opens the Scheduler. |
• | Ctrl + F for Find Patient. |
• | F5 opens the QuicWord word processor. |
• | F7 opens Authorizations. |
• | F8 or clicking the Note icon in upper right of Patient window opens a Hot Note. |

Phone numbers
Phone numbers are automatically formatted. Type only the numbers when entering a phone number.

Alphabetize and Refresh lists
The patient, user, referral source, or insurance company lists may need to be refreshed after certain editing functions. To refresh, simply click on another name in the list, and then click back.
To refresh the Note Hx list, click the Refresh button on toolbar or select Refresh Note History from pop-up or Documentation menu.
Patient, User, Referral Source, and Insurance Company lists are automatically alphabetized. However, when you change the spelling of a name already in a list, you will need to refresh the list by clicking on another window. For instance, to alphabetize the patient list, click the button for the users window, and then click back to the patient window.

Entering Time
Enter times using the hh:mm a/p format. For example, for 10:00 am type 10a.

Context sensitive instructions
In the Session Information for clinical notes and reports context sensitive instructions on how to enter information are displayed in green text as you move from filed to field.

Hide Tool bar and Side Bar- Under the View Menu click the side bar and toolbar to uncheck, This will remove them from the view.

Size and Position of the QD window. The QuicDoc window will open in the same position and size as when it was closed. You can adjust the size, using the double arrows on the edge of the screen. To move the screen click, hold and drag from the top toolbar.
