Use the Paragraph Bar to quickly format text, select fonts and text attributes, and to select tab and alignment options. To display the Paragraph Bar, select it from the View menu. It will display just below the toolbar. You can toggle it to hide or show. Font and Font size To Change Text:
Attributes Bold Italic Underline To change text to Bold, Italic, Underline, or Normal, mark the text by clicking and dragging your mouse across the text. When the text is marked, click the desired attribute on the Paragraph Bar, B for Bold, I for Italic, and U for Underline. By selecting an attribute first, all text typed following the cursor position at which you selected the option will appear in that style. Format...Character You can also format the text by selecting Character from the Format menu. When you open the font window from the Format menu, there are other options for Underlining. By selecting an attribute first, all text typed following the cursor position at which you selected the option will appear in that style.
There is also an option for Strike out in the Font window that is not available on the Paragraph Bar. Text Alignment in QuicWord You can align text on the left or right margins or center text between the margins. Full justification adds spaces between words to spread them to reach both right and left margins.
Type the text, and then select it. Click an alignment option on paragraph bar. You can also specify alignment by selecting Paragraph from the Format menu. Tabs Stops in QuicWord Tab settings determine where the cursor or insertion point stops when you press the Tab key. The default tab setting is .75 inches. To change tab settings, use the Tab icons on Paragraph Bar. Use the BACKSPACE or Arrow key for back tabbing. Tab Styles:
To Set Tabs Click a tab style on the Paragraph Bar to select it.
Click on the tab bar where you want to add a tab. Slide the tab to reposition if necessary.
Note: If the tab bar does not show, click Ruler on the View menu to display the tab bar. You can quickly set tabs for columns of text by placing a Left tab where you want the columns to begin. Move your cursor to a new line before changing the tab settings for a new paragraph. To Remove Tabs Click and drag the tab off of the tab bar to remove. |
