The Export Wizard exports data from the currently open list (e.g. Patients, Providers, Insurance Companies, or Referral Sources) to a delimited text file for use in another application.
You use the wizard to specify a filename, select whether to export all items or only selected items from the list, and the format of the delimited file.
The export wizard exports only basic information such as names, addresses, and phone numbers.
• | Click the Next button after answering each section of the wizard. |
• | Click Back to change a response to a previous question. |
• | Click Cancel to cancel the Export Wizard. |
To export a file
1. | Select the data you want to export (e.g. Patient, Insurance Company) by going to that list. |
2. | From the File menu, select Data Exchange and then Export Delimited Text. |
3. | Select a location and filename for the exported delimited file |
4. | Choose All Records or Selected Records. If you choose selected records, a list of records appears for you to tag. Hold down the Ctrl key and click each record to export. |
5. | Select delimited file options. Each field in a record (e.g. name, phone) can be separated by a comma or TAB. This is the field separator. Also, the first record exported can consist of field names. In the following example, there is one record. The first line contains the field names: Name, Address, City, State, Zipcode, Phone Blue Cross, 123 State Street, Baltimore, MD, 21742, 301-999-9999, Cigna, 232 Green Street, Baltimore, MD, 21099, 301-898-9899 |
6. | Click Finish to create the file. |
