Substance Use

Substance Use can, by default, be recorded in the Intake Note, Progress Note, and In/Outpatient Treatment Plans. You can also set it up to appear in any note or report. It consists of two sub-sections:

Nicotine/Alcohol
Drugs

down arrow  Use drop down arrows for pick lists.

Nicotine

You can document type, amount, and duration of Nicotine use, and enter a narrative description of any health related problems.

Alcohol

Use drop down pick lists to select frequency, type, and pattern of alcohol use. Enter the amount, duration, and last use of alcohol , as well as dates and longest period of sobriety, previous treatment, and any health related problems.

Drugs

Click the blue underlined text Add Drug. In the Drugs window, select a drug from drop-down list, or enter a drug not on the list. Enter additional information (e.g. amount, frequency, duration, etc.) as needed. Click OK to save.

Drug of Choice: To mark a drug as the patient's drug of choice, click to check DOC in the Specific Drugs Used list.

To Edit: To edit drug information, double-click drug in the Specific Drugs Used list; or select drug in list, and click the blue underlined text 'Edit Selected Drug.'

trashTo Delete: Select the drug to delete in the Specific Drugs Used list. Press the Delete key, or drag and drop into trashcan.

General Drug Use: Enter General Drug Use information (e.g. sobriety,related problems, and previous treatment).
 

Spell Check

Select Spell Check from the File menu. Be sure your cursor is in the text field you wish to spell check.
